A walk for men
A free monthly walk for men in St Ives. One morning a month, a couple of easy miles somewhere around the town, with whoever turns up.
First Sunday of the month
9:30am·St Ives Bridge
One morning a month we go for a walk and talk about whatever's on your mind. It could be football, work, family, or nothing much at all. No agenda either way.
Meet on St Ives Bridge
Where we meet
We gather on St Ives Bridge in the middle of town — the old one with the chapel on it. You'll find a group of blokes standing about. Walk up and say hello.
We're back inside the hour. Boots aren't essential, but the paths get muddy after rain.

From the walkers
“Walking with other guys in this group reinforces that you are not alone, and gives you strength to talk, or just listen. It also introduces you to areas around our lovely town which otherwise you may not see — a positive experience in itself.”
“Calm, no pressure, just a bunch of men having a meander around, talking if they want, staying quiet if they want. More things like this need to happen. Keep walking!”
“I like walking but chatting is harder, especially with people I don’t know — but this group was really easy going, no pressure, and a great way to see St Ives.”
Where we've been
Two to three miles, flat, at a pace that suits whoever turns up. Nothing here needs walking boots or a map.
If things are hard right now
Men.Walk.Chat is a walking group, not a mental health service. None of us are trained, and we'd never pretend otherwise. But sometimes a walk on the first Sunday isn't enough, or isn't soon enough. If that's where you are, these people are there for exactly this — and every one of them is free.
Whatever's on your mind, any hour of the day or night. You don't have to be in crisis to call. They won't judge you or tell you what to do.
